CREDENTIALS

Weldon’s practice focuses on business planning, estate planning and business transactions.  He has twenty years of experience representing business owners, professionals, entrepreneurs, and countless families with planning issues.  Weldon is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate and has an LL.M. in Tax from Southern Methodist University School of Law.  He has a broad estate planning practice including preparation of wills, trusts, estate and income tax planning, charitable gift planning, succession planning for family businesses, and advising executors and trustees in estate and trust administration.  His business planning practice includes advising clients in business formations and choice of entity issues to match clients with the best entity to fit their business plan and minimize taxes.  He represents businesses in capital raises and financing issues, sales and acquisitions of businesses, negotiating partnership and limited liability company agreements, designing incentive compensation plans for key employees, tax planning issues, negotiating contracts and in a variety of other business transactions, including serving as outside general counsel to businesses.

Weldon and his wife Martha are both Aggies and have one daughter, Addison, and one son, Heath.  Weldon is active in the Bryan-College Station community, including serving on the board of the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley and on the board of Brazos Christian School and teaching in the children’s ministry at Central Church.
