Bio

John was a pillar of our firm and the community he loved. Those who knew him are stronger because of his profound influence. He made those around him better, and his relentless spirit motivated every one of us to be the best we can be in every moment. John was a true leader who cared for and got to know everyone who entered our doors, from the college student runners to the most senior attorneys. It has been a privilege to call him a friend and colleague; his passing on February 15, 2022, marks a day of true loss because he was extraordinarily important to so many in our community.

John loved his family dearly and taught us the importance of dedicating time to our families, even while endeavoring to pursue excellence in our professions. This is a difficult balance and John relied upon his faith to supply the grace needed to lead ‘a life well-lived.’ His smile, warmth, and professionalism permeated every interaction and marked his foundational role here at our firm. He is survived by his wife, Sue Pool Webb, their three daughters, Sue Ellen Webb von Merz, Hallie Webb Mancuso, and Ashlyn Webb Hand, as well as nine precious grandchildren.

One of John’s passions was co-founding First Win – a non-profit organization that focuses on supporting and empowering children in our community.  Your continued support of First Win would be an honor to his memory and legacy of investing in others.

We miss John’s presence every day, and we strive to honor him going forward. In his memory, do a few burpees (he’d say do 100), hug a loved one, and be an inspiration today. We invite you to join us as we celebrate a consequential life well-lived.
